Who was Maria Montessori?
Maria Montessori was not just the first woman to ever become a doctor in Italy. She was also a groundbreaking education philosopher. She worked in the poorest areas of Rome, with children who were thought to be "unteachable." It was with these children that she developed a theory of human development that continues to inspire educators and schools around the world. You can learn more about Maria Montessori here
